Letter of Condolence
Dear TBF Trust, and the Family of Dr. Patrick Sookhdeo,
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we learned of the untimely passing of Father Patrick Sookhdeo.
On behalf of the GOY Humanitarian Foundation, and on my own behalf as Azatoohi Simonian, former Adviser to the President of the Republic of Artsakh, I extend our deepest condolences to his beloved family, the leadership and staff of TBF Trust, his close friends, colleagues, and everyone whose lives were touched by his remarkable faith, courage, and compassion.
Father Patrick was far more than an outstanding Christian leader. He was a man of unwavering conviction, extraordinary humanity, and tireless dedication to those suffering from persecution, war, displacement, and injustice. Throughout his life, he stood courageously beside vulnerable Christian communities across the world, giving hope to those who had little reason to hope and becoming a powerful voice for those who had no voice.
For the people of Artsakh, Father Patrick was not simply a supporter—he became a true friend. Through Barnabas Aid, his personal commitment, and his compassionate leadership, he extended invaluable humanitarian assistance to countless families affected by war, blockade, forced displacement, and immense hardship. At times when our people faced some of the darkest moments in their history, his solidarity reminded them that they were neither forgotten nor alone.
The people of Artsakh, and the land of Artsakh itself, will forever remain grateful for his kindness, generosity, and steadfast friendship. His legacy is written not only in the humanitarian projects he inspired but also in the hearts of thousands of people whose lives were transformed by his compassion. His unwavering commitment to justice, dignity, and Christian love will continue to inspire future generations.
Today, we also wish to express our heartfelt sympathy to every member of Father Patrick’s family, to the dedicated staff of TBF Trust, and to all those faithful companions who shared Dr. Patrick Sookhdeo’s vision, walked alongside him throughout his extraordinary journey, and faithfully carried forward his mission of serving persecuted Christians and defending human dignity. We recognize that this is not only the loss of an exceptional leader, but also of a cherished mentor, colleague, and friend.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of profound grief. We pray that God grants comfort, strength, and peace to his family and to all who mourn his passing.
May the memory of Dr. Patrick Sookhdeo remain an everlasting blessing, and may his extraordinary legacy continue to shine as a beacon of faith, compassion, courage, and hope for generations to come.
With our deepest sympathy, Azatoohi Simonian
